LEVEL 1 – AWARENESS OF FIRST AID FOR MENTAL HEALTH

The Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health course suits everyone and provides those attending with the knowledge to recognise a suspected mental health condition and the skills to start a conversation and be able to signpost a person towards professional help.

This course is open to anyone who can benefit from this course and it is a great stepping stone into First Aid for Mental Health. We recommend this course to any organisation or business who wants to introduce First Aid for Mental Health to their employees/clients. A great way to raise awareness around Mental Health.

This awareness course is suitable for everyone as it provides learners with the knowledge to recognise a suspected mental health condition and the skills to start a conversation and be able to guide a person towards professional help.

A maximum of 12 students are allowed on the course and must be a minimum of 14 years of age (classroom based) or 18 years of age (Distance Learning).
If you have several employees that you wish to train for Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health why not consider an onsite course.

We are able to deliver this course in-house subject to a pre-course assessment of your premises, reducing your costs in respect of additional time out and travelling. We also offer our Co-productive Model to organisation

Syllabus:

First Aid for Mental Health covers a range of related subjects that includes:

  • What is First Aid for Mental Health?
  • Identifying mental health conditions
  • Providing advice and starting a conversation
  • Stress
  • Mental health conditions

Assessment:

The Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health qualification is assessed through a range of methods, including practical assessment and written assessment (open and multiple-choice).

Certification:

Upon successful completion of the qualification assessment, Delegates will be awarded the Ofqual
regulated Level 1 Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health (RQF).
This qualification is valid for three years from the date of achievement. It is strongly recommended
that the Delegate attends annual refresher training. The Delegates will need to complete the full
course again to requalify for a further three years.
