The Befriending Project supports people in West Lothian who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health challenges. Funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, the project offers regular, one-to-one befriending support to help people feel listened to, less isolated, and more connected to their community.
Our trained volunteer Mental Health First Aiders provide friendly, understanding support through regular contact, offering a safe space for conversation and encouragement.
We are welcoming referrals for individuals who:
• Would benefit from regular one-to-one befriending support
• Are experiencing mild to moderate mental health challenges
• Would like to build confidence, reduce isolation, and feel more connected within their community
• One-to-one befriending with a trained volunteer
• Friendly, non-judgemental listening and emotional support
• Support focused on confidence, connection, and wellbeing
If you know someone who could benefit from a listening ear and friendly support, referrals are now open.
Together, we can help build a stronger, more supportive West Lothian.
